Helping Youth Get Involved!
Who we are: Tumwater United for Families (TUFF) is a local community coalition dedicated to preventing drug use, alcohol use, and violence among youth.
Mission: Provide a community partnership that promotes a safe, supportive environment for Tumwater youth and their families.
The goal of the Tumwater United for Families (TUFF) Youth Scholarship Program is to help make established youth activity programs accessible to children of low-income families.
Youth Scholarship Application
Funding Funds for scholarships are donated to TUFF by a variety of groups such as the Tumwater Fire Department and Tumwater Police Department, and by individuals in the community.
Who is Eligible? Scholarships are available to all youth up through 12th grade, who live within the Tumwater School District or Tumwater Urban Growth Boundaries. Youth must qualify for the federal Free Lunch Program. If not in the Free Lunch Program, families must meet the criteria for acceptance to the program.
Activities Scholarships may be used for any program offered for youth, including sports, arts, educational and recreational programs. Private lessons will not be funded.
Scholarships TUFF scholarships will pay 50% of the activity program fee, up to $50 per child. A family may request consideration for further assistance if they demonstrate need and funding is available. There is no limit to the number of children from one family making a request, but repeat applications for the same child may be limited. All funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted.

To apply for a scholarship, complete the application form and mail it in, along with verification of eligibility for the Free Lunch Program and a completed registration form for the program in which you wish to enroll.

Please allow enough time to process your application prior to program deadlines. Families will be responsible for submitting the balance of the registration free directly to the agency hosting the activity. If for some reason your application is not approved, you will be notified as soon as possible.
