The research is clear: children in quality afterschool programs are more likely to come to school, turn in their work, get good grades, stay in school and graduate! It’s where they learn that sometimes failure provides the best learning opportunity of all. But today’s after school programs do so much more than keep kids safe.

Club House Program

TOGETHER! places our after school programs in communities and schools that need them most. After school and summer learning opportunities are especially vital in communities burdened by poverty, homelessness, hunger, educational disparities and a lack of access to extracurricular activities. We invest in schools with the highest percentage of struggling families to create educational equity.

Our after school programs are at the cutting edge education and youth development. We create programs that children want to attend — where hands-on, fun creative learning is the norm.  And our after school programs engage a broad range of community-based organizations and volunteers from places like the Food Bank, local colleges and universities, Timberland Regional Library, faith based groups and others. These organizations leverage the best our communities have to offer to help ensure every student succeeds in school and in life.

Children in first through fifth grade attend Club Houses After School programs September through June as well as over the summer at no cost to kids and families. TOGETHER!’s Club House programs work in partnership with North Thurston Public Schools to improve academic and social skills. Our model includes continuous improvement through active participation in the national Youth Program Quality (YPQ) Initiative. Our Club House programs are evaluated annually by an outside evaluator and our staff members participate in Youth Work Methods training.

TOGETHER! runs 21st Century Learning Centers, also known as “Club Houses,” in three elementary schools:

  • Lydia Hawk Elementary
  • Meadows Elementary
  • Pleasant Glade Elementary

If students do not attend the schools listed above they may still be eligible to attend program. Eligibility is determined by where student resides, academic need and finacial need. Please contact the program director for more information.
